Contemplations on the Quote

By words the mind is winged indeed. Aristophanes was a wise man to utter such profundity.

Without the use of words to describe concepts and ideas, the mind mostly resides in its own mental shadowy realm. Meaning that until we express the thought or idea we have, we haven't really given the mind the opportunity to develop and evolve.

Language is a interesting thing, without language there can be no writing and without writing there can be no advanced science as we know it.

What is science but our collective minds that have gained wings to fly above and beyond our own physical limitations. That is of course when we are talking about technology.

Now don't get me wrong winged mind doesn't only equate with science and technology, heck I would rather say that a winged mind is more like poetry, stories and literature.

A winged mind is our unique human trait.

Through language we are confronted with billions of different worlds, stories and tales that we can tell ourselves and each other.
